The Cleveland Masonic
Library.... |
| The stain glass emblems shown at left now mounted in a lighted permanent display in the main library, were originally in the Commandery Room. Through a system of pulleys and rollers, each emblem could be used as needed. | |
The remodeling project of the Cleveland Masonic Library, located on the first floor of the Cleveland Masonic Center, 3615 Euclid Avenue, is nearly completed. The “new look” of the library, has been done over an18 month period. and most of the difficult tasks have been completed. The “new look” renovation included removing books from the shelves, packing the books so they could be moved to other areas, tearing down book sections and shelving, developing new areas in the Cleveland Masonic Center building, and placing everything in a time-saving order for library visitor access. The Library was founded in 1881 by Ill.·. Brenton D. Babcock, 33°. It has been through many alterations and renovations during the past 120 years. We anticipate the current effort by the members of the Board of Trustees and volunteers to be durable for several years to come. The changes should be a welcome addition to the students of Masonic history and education. We invite your comments. As an added feature, we are in the planning stages of acquiring a Web Site. An announcement will be made when we are fully on line. We invite you to stop in and see the “new look” of the Cleveland Masonic Library the next time you are in the area. We’re open Mondays and Thursdays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and at other times by appointment. The Library is also open when there is a Scottish Rite function in The Cleveland Masonic Center. To arrange a special tour, call the library at (216) 431-6173. We look forward to your visit.
One of the most stunning displays of the Cleveland Masonic Library is a large plate collection that shows historical places and Masonic events. Shown are just a few of the plates on display. One of the prized possessions of the Cleveland Masonic Library is this historic vase. The work in the vase is amazing and must be seen to be appreciated. Stop in for a special viewing
